Spectrum Human Services, a private, non-profit community mental health center, is recognized as one of the most effective behavioral healthcare providers in Western New York. Spectrum provides a wide range of time-efficient services including treatment and rehabilitation of psychiatric disabilities, psychological problems, and substance-related disorders. Information regarding a client's treatment is kept confidential in accordance with prevailing law and policy.
We have mental-health programs for adults, adolescents, and children who are experiencing a significant disturbance in functioning, emotional state, or pattern of thinking. In addition, we have chemical-dependency programs for adults and adolescents whose chemical use is having a negative impact upon their health, relationships, or functioning and for individuals who are concerned about a family member or friend's use of alcohol or drugs.
Spectrum Human Services accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most other third-party insurance for payment of treatment services. All costs not covered by these remain the responsibility of the patient. Financial arrangements must be made prior to beginning treatment. Adjustments to fees can be requested based on proof of need.
All program staffing meets the Qualified Health Professional Standards of New York State. Professional staff includes registered nurses, certified social workers, certified alcoholism counselors, registered occupational therapists, and licensed psychiatrists.
If you, a friend, or family member needs counseling, call Spectrum Human Services. We have helped thousands of adults and children who experience emotional, drug, alcohol, or behavior problems. A leader in behavioral health care for the past 25 years, Spectrum provides counseling services at 8 locations in Erie County. Our clinics, day treatment, and rehabilitation programs are committed to individualized services for even the most difficult or complex personal problems.
The best way to approach our service for help is to call our number, 662-2040, to obtain the phone number of the clinic nearest you. You will be given an appointment with a counselor who can assist you. Then all you have to do is say what you think the problem is. The counselor will help you decide how to handle it.
We accept most private health insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Professional therapists provide time-efficient individual, family, and group therapy to help resolve psychological problems, reduce psychiatric symptoms, and improve functioning.
Child & Adolescent Treatment
Outpatient services are provided to children and adolescents with family and substance problems or psychiatric disorders. A team of trained therapists and child psychiatrists work with the child and family to increase functioning at home or school.
These services are targeted to those whose chemical use, including alcohol and other drugs, is interfering with their health, relationships, or functioning and to those whose lives are affected by someone else's chemical use.
Continuing Day Treatment
These programs provide time-efficient treatment and rehabilitation designed to maintain or enhance the individual's current levels of functioning and community living skills and to develop self-awareness and self-esteem through the exploration and development of their strengths and interests. We provide individual and group therapy, independent living skills, training, recreational and socialization activities, rehabilitation readiness, and MICA groups.
Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation (IPRT)
This program helps adults with psychiatric disabilities set personally chosen goals in working, learning, living, or socializing. Rehabilitation specialists then help these individuals to develop the skills necessary to reach their goals.
Programs for Mentally Ill Chemical Abusers
We provide a wide range of services in our MICA continuing day and clinical treatment programs, including comprehensive assessments of mental health and substance-related disorders, psychiatric evaluations, medications, group, and individual therapy.
Provides independent group recreational and socialization opportunities for adults with a history of psychiatric problems.
