With International Women's Day approaching, Turkish Cultural Center (TCC) Buffalo has organized a “Turkish Coffee Night” event last Friday, March 4th on the theme of “Women’s Significance and Role in Turkish Culture”.

As the guests of 2011’s 2nd coffee night event, consisting mostly of women sharing common Buffalonian identity beyond their different cultural backgrounds; people has filled the conference room of TCC to take a part in this special occasion. Invitees of the coffee night shared peaceful moments and warm conversations with each other while tasting delicious appetizers from Turkish cuisine.

After the food being served, keynote presentation took the stage. The talk delivered by Mrs. Zuhal Can, a Turkish American PhD student at University at Buffalo, has drawn a deep interest from the audience. Close to the end of the program, the Turkish community living in Buffalo – Niagara region had the chance to present their guests some special gifts from Turkey, by raffle drawing and a little contest.

By pairing Turkish coffee’s bitter blend with famous baklava’s sweet, shareholders of that joyful night have actually dished up their differences into long lasting friendships.

TCC Buffalo is going to organize next coffee night event at 16th of April.
