Children’s Gallery Summer Classes

Grades 3-5

$6 per class ($4 for Carrousel Society members)

Parents can enjoy a morning off while their children learn about life before ipods and the internet. Each morning students will examine a different topic of carrousel related history. They’ll participate in numerous crafts and activities that explore the history, math, science, and art of this part of our community’s past.  Topics are:

·        July 7: From Medieval Times: Early origins of the carrousel date back to the 5th century.

·        July 14: A Carver’s Creation: Talented woodcarvers crafted Allan Herschell carrousels.

·        July 21: Complex Machines: Beautiful carrousels are driven by math, science, and machines.

·        July 28: Behind the Music: No carrousel is complete without its signature band organ music.

Reservations and prepayment required by first class; call 716-693-1885 to register or download the registration form at www.carrouselmuseum.org. Maximum enrollment: 20 students per session.
