SPCA Asking Restaurants to Join ‘The Big Chew’

The SPCA Serving Erie County is seeking local restaurants to be part of its most delicious event: The Big Chew!

Scheduled for November 6, 2012, The Big Chew encourages Western New Yorkers to simply dine out at a participating restaurant. Restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to the SPCA’s many life-saving programs, which provide animal rescue, treatment, surgery, and more to the animals of our community.

Restaurant owners have the ability to select a specific donation plan when they decide to participate in The Big Chew. Some restaurants will be donating a portion of all proceeds from the day’s meals or orders, others will donate proceeds from specific meals dedicated to The Big Chew. Additional donation plans are also available.

“Local restaurants have really embraced this event,” says SPCA Special Events Planner Bethany Kloc. “They add their own special spins to their involvement to make dining at those establishments unique, while profiting at the same time, even attracting new customers. Some restaurants feature live music or the SPCA Whisker Wag’n mobile adoption unit to add a little extra something to the day. Establishments that do a heavy take-out business have donated a certain dollar amount per pizza or take-out order. We’ll find a way for any kind of restaurant to participate!”

Restaurant owners and/or managers interested in becoming participants in The Big Chew should call Kloc at the SPCA, 716-629-3532, to receive informational packets by mail or email. Visit YourSPCA.org for further details.
