Youngstown, NY - On 02/17/2017 at 2303 Hrs, Village of Youngstown Officer Catipovic made a traffic stop behind 310 Lockport St in the Village of Youngstown. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Officer Catipovic recognized a passenger as 23 year old Myquan Pringle, whom she knew to have an active arrest warrant for robbery 2nd out of the City of Niagara Falls. Upon removing Pringle from the vehicle and asking for identification, Pringle fled on foot and entered the rear of 310 Lockport St. An exterior perimeter was immediately set up as several units from Niagara County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police responded for assistance. Pringle was known to be armed and was considered dangerous. The Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team (ERT) was activated and responded. The ERT team entered the building, containing 8 apartments, and cleared each one in search of the suspect. The suspect was located in a second floor apartment and was armed with a hatchet. He was taken into custody without incident. The incident is still under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit and further charges are pending.
