Buffalo Police: Jefferson Avenue, Male Exposes Self to Student

Buffalo Police is investigating an incident involving a man who exposed himself to an 11th grade female student at Jefferson Street near East Ferry this morning around 7:30AM.

The man, who was on foot, is described as being a light-skinned black male, late 20s or early 30s, with scruffy facial hair and glasses.

Please have a conversation with your children regarding how to avoid strangers and make them aware of the description of this vehicle, along with the message that all similar incidents are to be avoided and should be reported. These occurrences provide the opportunity for you to talk about personal safety in general, and the importance of looking out for the safety of others as well.

FinCEN Penalizes California Bank for Egregious Violations of Anti-Money Laundering Laws

WASHINGTON—The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) today announced the assessment of a $7 million civil money penalty (CMP) against Merchants Bank of California of Carson, CA for willful violations of several provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the primary federal regulator of Merchants, has identified deficiencies in the Bank’s practices that resulted in violations of previous consent orders entered into by Merchants, as well as other violations. The OCC simultaneously assessed a $1 million CMP against Merchants for these violations.

BUFFALO, NY:  City Police ammoince a parolee has been arrested for an attempted sexual assault of a woman, which occurred in late February. On February 22, 2017, Ferry-Fillmore District officers on routine patrol were flagged down by a distraught female at around 2am, on the city's east side. The victim reported she was assaulted and threatened by a male known as Langston, who was armed with a knife during the attack, and he forcibly touched her. The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

BUFFALO, N.Y.- Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. announced today that Joseph Lombardo, 25, of Lancaster, NY, who was convicted of possession and receipt of child pornography, was sentenced to 188 months in prison and lifetime supervised release by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.
