Unique Pies to Take Center Stage at Buffalo Pizza-Bash

Unique Pies to Take Center Stage at Buffalo Pizza-Bash

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Visitors to the upcoming Buffalo Pizza-Bash are in for a treat if they hope to find more than just pepperoni on their slices.

Restaurants hoping to take home honors in the Most Unique Pizza category are hoping to top last year’s creations in this second annual event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, at the Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga.

Organizer Keith Wilson is impressed with this year’s anticipated entries, which include sushi and lasagna pizzas from Mooney’s Bar & Grill in the Town of Tonawanda and the “Ragin’ Cajun” from Classic Pizza in Bowmansville, among others. Wilson added that such specialties add to the excitement of the Pizza-Bash.

“The unique creations are what the people look forward to at this event,” he said.

St. John's Celebrates Catholic Schools Week

St. John's Celebrates Catholic Schools Week

St. John’s students had a great time during Catholic Schools Week.  Each day they celebrated with a different fun activity.

Monday, the students dressed up and attended mass to open up the week.  They were then treated with a donut breakfast.

Tuesday, they wore silly socks and were treated to a great performance by the St. Joe’s Swing Choir.

Wednesday, everyone got a special surprise – a day off – thanks to the snowy weather.

Thursday, the students dressed out of uniform and wore crazy hats.  Through the course of the day, music would play throughout the school and everyone would get up and dance.  Some classes were even visited by the school principal, Mrs. Jacobs.  In the afternoon, everyone played BINGO over the PA system.  Prizes were awarded for the winners.
