Locally Developed Marine Training Program Featured in Fitness Magazine

Locally Developed Marine Training Program Featured in Fitness Magazine

Marine Functional Force Training, developed locally by Steven Helmicki of East Aurora, president of Primordial Strength Inc., is featured in the December issue of MILO: A Journal For Serious Strength Athletes. Former Lancaster resident Len Kuhn, now manager of Area 4 Gym at Camp Lejune, a Marine Corps military training facility in North Carolina, is photographed in the feature.

Primordial’s Marine Functional Force Training program was specially created to meet the needs of our fighting men and women who train at Area 4. Helmicki’s curriculum is a National Association of Sports Medicine and Coopers Institute approved course and can be used to set up authentic boot camp/military-style training in homes, gyms, corporations, schools or hospitals.

Families of Children with Autism to Attend Special Santa Event

GETZVILLE, NY- On Saturday, December 11, from 9 a.m. – Noon, more than 35 volunteers from Summit Educational Resources, will host a holiday “Santa Visits Summit” event for more than 40 families of children with autism at Summit, 150 Stahl Road, in Getzville.

For many children with autism, the experience of going to a mall for a traditional “picture with Santa” is just not possible due to the chaotic environment, the long wait in line along and the communication challenges they face.  This event gives each family a scheduled time with Santa in a quiet environment.  Children – ages 2 – 10 – are given sufficient time to “warm up” to Santa (one of Summit’s staff members who works closely with kids with autism) and have a family picture taken.  Every family leaves the event with a CD of photographs of their child with Santa that can be shared with other family members.

In addition to their visit with Santa, families have an opportunity to visit “Mrs.
