Holiday Dinner Dance Featuring Jack Civiletto & The Pyramid Band to Benefit Pet Connection

Tickets are now available for a Holiday Concert/Dinner Dance featuring Jack Civiletto & The Pyramid Band that will take place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at the Hearthstone Manor, 333 Dick Road, Depew. Proceeds from the event will benefit Pet Connection Programs Inc., a special care shelter for dogs and cats located in Marilla.

Revolutionary War Returns to Old Fort Niagara

The American Revolution returns to Old Fort Niagara and American and British forces are vying for your support. Old Fort Niagara hosts a Revolutionary War Encampment on October 9 & 10.

Beginning at 10am both days, Revolutionary War re-enactors will portray both British and American forces, offering musket and artillery demonstrations throughout the day. At 1pm each day, kids and their parents will be recruited for a mock battle by either the Patriots or the British forces.

Super Adoption Event to be Held at the Maddie's Pet Rescue Project Pet Expo

A Super Adoption Event will be taking place during the Maddie's Pet Rescue Project Pet Expo on Saturday, September 25th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Fairgrounds Event Center in Hamburg.  Twenty area rescue groups will be present with cats and dogs available for adoption.  Anyone who has been thinking of adopting a new member of the family is certain to find the perfect match from among over 100 animals of all ages and breeds.

In addition to the Super Adoption Event, the Pet Expo will provide pet owners with the opportunity to shop for toys, treats and professional dog trainers.  The whole family will be entertained by flyball and agility demontrations as well as the ASPCA Crime Scene Investigations van.  A special Preview Night will be held from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, September 24th with a dog fashion show and door prize of two complimentary tickets on JetBlue Airways.

The YWCA of the Tonawandas Offers Two Early Childhood Enrichment Programs

For 3 and 4 year olds, The Treehouse Program takes place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9am to 11:30am. This program offers a nurturing setting to explore their environment, make new friends and acquire the basic academic and social skills needed for Kindergarten readiness. Emphasis is on learning the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes. This program is further enhanced by craft projects, show n' tell, painting, science activities, gym time/team time, field trips, music and story time. The focus of the staff is to help the individual child find his/her highest level of achievement while developing a love of learning. 

Dog Wash to Raise Money for Sick Child

KENMORE, N.Y. -- Niagara Aquarium Pet Shoppe at 1345 Military Road in Kenmore is holding a Dog Wash to benefit Evan D. Corbett, a nine-month-old child born with serious health issues, on Saturday, August 28, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

For just a $5 donation you and your dog can have a good time for a good cause.

Corbett was born November 9, 2009, with Congenital Central Hyperventilation Syndrome, which required tracheotomy surgery at five weeks of age and now requires nearly 'round-the-clock nursing care. Proceeds will help to offset medical expenses.
