Michael Olear Honored by UB Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership

Michael Olear of the Olear Team at MJ Peterson was honored by the University at Buffalo’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (UB CEL) as their Entrepreneur of the Month for June 2017. UB CEL, part of the UB School of Management, provides an individualized and interactive education in entrepreneurship for business owners. Olear is a 2007 graduate of the program and past chair of the UB CEL Alumni Association. 

As part of his recognition as Entrepreneur of the Month, UB CEL included an interview with Olear in their monthly newsletter, “CEL Happenings.” The interview covered Olear’s beliefs on entrepreneurship, including this quote:

Coast Guard, locals respond to high-speed ferry accident

BOSTON – Multiple Coast Guard crews are responding late Friday after a high-speed ferry with 48 people aboard hit a jetty at the Hyannis Harbor entrance. 

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England were notified at about 10 p.m. that the ferry Iyanough, which serves Nantucket to Hyannis, struck the jetty and grounded on the rocks. At least four people were reported to be injured.

NORTH TONAWANDA, NY: Just outside Betty's Bar, which has a logo of Betty Boop, two cars collide near River Road, While North Tonawanda Police arrived onto the scene, and started investigating, there was a crackling sound, witnesses thought that the sound may hav ebeen related to the accident but restaurant visitors went scrambling for cover when a large branch fell from the tree that drapes over Thompson Street.

North Tonawanda Fire responded to asstst for injuries they were initially blocked by the tree. Although the driver of the pickup that took the force of the falling heavy branch, was able to escape harm, his truck has a shattered windshield and damage.

many customers were shook up, and concerned, but it made for a little exceitement leading into the new weekend.

Coast Guard medevacs woman from cruise ship

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew forward deployed to Cordova medevaced a 76-year-old woman experiencing heart attack symptoms from the cruise ship Star Princess, near Cape Hinchinbrook, Friday.

 

The aircrew hoisted the woman and the cruise ship’s medical specialist and transported them to Cordova where they were transferred to Guardian Flight. Guardian Flight transported the woman and medical specialist to Anchorage for higher care.
