Pet Connection Programs Inc., a nonprofit special care and maternity shelter for dogs and cats located in Marilla, will hold a supply and donation drive from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the Petco store located at  4401 Transit Road near Main Street in Williamsville.

Certified Pre-Owned Pets Event to Feature All Models of Pets

It only happens once a year.  The Maddie’s Pet Rescue Project is hosting Certified Pre-Owned Pets, an adoption event at the West Herr Used Car Outlet, 5535 Transit Rd in Williamsville.  Taking place on May 4th from 11:00 – 3:00, Certified Pre-Owned Pets will feature all makes and models.  Pet owners are sure to find their perfect companion from amongst dozens of dogs and cats. 

To help move precious inventory, Black Dog, Second Chance, the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, HEART, Second Chance Sheltering Network, the SPCA Serving Erie County, and Ten Lives Club will be discounting adoption fees to a fraction of their true value.  In addition to spay/neuter surgery and up to date vaccinations, all certified pre-owned pets come with standard four paw drive and a 100,000 smile guarantee.

Safeguarding dogs and cats begins with discussions with your veterinarian, but in addition to prescribed healthcare repellents and preventatives, there are several things that can be done to make your yard inhospitable to the stinging, biting troublemakers.

As you prepare for your pet's big adventure with the family, here are some travel Dos (and one travel Don't) to help get you off to the right start:

Do visit your veterinarian before you leave to ensure your pet is ready to travel. Request an updated health certificate with information on vaccinations and if necessary, re-stock your pet's medication. Be sure to find out what to include in your pet's first aid kit.
