Unemployment Rate in general terms is the specific percentage of the specific labor force that is currently the percentage
of the labor force that is seeking employment but currently does not have one is known as the unemployment rate.
The total labor force is the sum of the employed and unemployed workers. This is the sample population. The labor force does not include the jobless who are not actively seeking work, or individuals whom would legally be eligible for unemployment benefits but are caught in limbo within the system of appeals. The labor force also does not include individuals whom have filed for New York State Unemployment Insurance but due to the Department of Labor not receiving documents back in time or not convincing the Department that the Unemployment Insurance Applicant's choice to move from one place to another was valid and acceptable, in their sole discretion.
Some examples of individuals who are not included in the jobless numbers include; full-time students, retirees, disabled, homemakers, these individuals are determined to be outside the labor force.
All members of the labor force over the age of sixteen years and older, and or are considered adult, make up the percentage of the adult population, the labor force partipation rate.
